Our confined space training courses provide information, skills and techniques to deal with entry, exit and incidents within confined space working. Our mobile confined space simulator allows us to carry out training at your site or premises if required.

Please see individual courses for detail on the content you require as each course does not cover the complete skills and knowledge required for all aspects of confined space working.


1-day Confined Space Awareness Course

The aim of the course is to provide students with a theoretical and practical awareness of the Confined Space Regulations and to give first hand training on types of equipment available.

Confined Space Awareness Course

Course Duration: One Day (Non-BA)

No. of Students: Minimum of 6 personnel, maximum of 10 personnel

Course Aim:

The aim of the course is to provide students with a theoretical and practical awareness of the Confined Space Regulations 1997 and to give first hand training on types of equipment available

Course Objectives:

At the end of the two days course, students will be able to:

  • Understand the theoretical aspects of confined space entry and rescue
  • Be aware of the various types of physical and atmospheric hazards
  • Appreciate the consequences of neglect of application of the regulations
  • Demonstrate confidence whilst entering a confined space
  • Negotiate confined space access chambers in a safe manner
  • Conduct non entry rescue techniques

Certification: Students that successfully complete the course will be issued a certificate of completion

2-day Confined Space Entry and Rescue Course

The aim of the course is to provide information, techniques and the various skills to successfully deal with entry and rescue from confined space working, utilizing self-contained breathing apparatus.

Course Duration: Two Day (Non-BA)

No. of Students: Minimum of 6 personnel, maximum of 10 personnel

Course Aim:

The aim of the course is to provide information, techniques and the various skills to successfully deal with entry and rescue from confined spaces utilising self contained Breathing Apparatus

Course Objectives:

At the end of the two days course, students will be able to:

  • Understand the theoretical aspects of confined space entry and rescue
  • Be aware of the various types of physical and atmospheric hazards
  • Wear self contained Breathing Apparatus whilst entering a Confined Space
  • Demonstrate confidence whilst entering and rescuing a casualty from a confined space
  • Implement safe systems of work for emergency rescue activities

Certification: Students that successfully complete the course will be issued a certificate of completion

Course Duration: Five Days

No. of Students: Minimum of 6 personnel, maximum of 10 personnel

Course Aim

The aim of the course is to provide information, techniques and basic command and control skills to successfully deal with a confined space incident

Course Objectives

At the end of the three day course, students will be able to:

  • Understand the theoretical aspects of confined space entry and rescue
  • Be aware of the various types of physical and atmospheric hazards
  • Carry out a situational dynamic risk assessment (DRA)
  • Execute vertical and horizontal rescues whilst wearing self contained breathing apparatus and airline equipment
  • Compare the advantages and disadvantages of self contained and airline respiratory protective equipment
  • Implement basic command and control procedures during a confined space rescue
  • Appreciate the internal and external resources required to deal with a confined space incident

Implementation of Confined Space & Working at Height Rescue Plans

The aim of the course is to introduce both confined space and work at height rescue plans for implementation in the workplace. The training includes legislation, safe systems of work, compiling rescue plans & emergency arrangements.

Confined Space Standby Operator

The aim of the course is to provide information and practical training to assist students in the supervision of contractors and employees whilst entering a confined space to carry out work activities.

Course Duration: Two Days

To provide information and practical training to assist students in the supervision of contractors and employees whilst entering confined spaces to carry out work activities

Course Objectives

At the end of the two day course, students will be able to:

  • Understand the theoretical aspects of confined space entry and rescue
  • Be aware of the various types of physical and atmospheric hazards
  • Recognise the purpose of permit to work systems and risk assessment
  • Follow procedures in the event of an emergency within / external to the confined space
  • Recognise various types of situations which may effect safety during standby operations
  • Define the duties and responsibilities of the standby operator
  • Secure entrants by means of tag lines prior to entry into a confined space

Audit of Confined Space Rescue Operations

The aim of the audit is to assess the competency, training and effectiveness of confined space rescue operations within industrial, civil and petrochemical sites.

Audit Duration: One Day

Number of Students: Minimum of 6 personnel, maximum of 10 personnel

The aim of the audit is to assess the competency, training and effectiveness of confined space rescue operations within industrial, civil and petrochemical sites

Audit Objectives

At the end of the one day audit, the following will have been assessed:

  • The methods of response to confined space incidents
  • The suitability of confined space entry and rescue equipment for deployment at operational incidents
  • The methods of rescue from structures
  • Observation of the techniques utilized to execute a confined space rescue
  • Documentary evidence to demonstrate competence of individuals, the training systems and equipment
  • Working practices associated with on site confined space operations

On completion of the audit, a report is issued with any identified recommendations as found during the audit process.

Certification: Students that successfully complete the course will be issued a certificate of completion
